My buddy the accountant told me to ditch the daily coffee run
I was spending like $5.50 every morning at the shop for a large black coffee and a breakfast sandwich. He showed me the math - that came out to over $1,400 a year just on coffee and food. So I bought a $30 espresso machine and a pack of frozen croissants at Costco. I'm saving about $90 a month now and it tastes just as good. Anyone else cut out a daily habit and see the cash pile up fast?

I read somewhere that the average person spends like $2,000 a year on coffee shop stuff without even realizing it. Once you see that number it's hard to ignore, good on you for switching it up.

A thermos and a good grinder changed my whole morning routine.

Spend $2000 a year on coffee and realize you've basically been paying for a used car every year just to stay awake. I did the math on my own habit once and nearly choked. The real kicker is that most of those cups aren't even good. You're just paying for convenience and a paper cup with a logo on it. Now I make a thermos at home and honestly don't miss the lukewarm drip from the corner shop. Saves me money and I get to skip the line.
