Wandered into a corner store in Barcelona and found out their bread was half the price of the bakery 2 blocks away

Classic case of paying for the "vibe" instead of the bread. That bakery markup is basically a tourist tax on the experience of walking past a nice window display. Guess the corner store figured people just want cheap carbs, not a whole aesthetic.
