TIL booking a hotel through their own site vs Expedia is $45 cheaper for the same room
Last weekend I booked a last minute room in Austin through Expedia like I always do. Paid $129 for a basic motel near downtown. Got there and the front desk lady mentioned if I booked direct it would have been $84 for the exact same room type. I asked if that was real and she showed me their website. Felt like an idiot. Has anyone else caught a huge price difference like that?

Holy crap that's frustrating. Bet that front desk lady sees it happen all the time too. I wonder how many people just blindly trust the booking sites without even checking direct prices first.
