Lost 2 hours at the Rome airport because I didn't check bag size limits for budget airlines

Ryanair's sizer box at the gate caught my carry-on as oversized and it took 45 minutes and 60 euros to check it at the last minute has anyone else gotten tricked by those random size checks?

I mean, the size limits are literally listed on their website before you book, so it's kind of on you for not checking. I get that it sucks to get hit with a surprise fee, but they're not exactly hiding their rules. Reading the fine print saves you money and stress, plain and simple.

Yeah, totally agree with you @gibson.sarah. I had a friend who booked a cheap flight once and didn't check the bag size rules. Got to the gate with a carry-on that was like two inches too big and they made her pay like 60 bucks at the counter. She was so mad about it but I mean, the info was right there when she booked. So yeah, reading that stuff ahead of time really does save you a headache later.
