Best week of travel I ever had was in Lisbon last March when I found a local bakery selling pastel de nata for 1 euro each instead of the tourist spots charging 3
I ate 14 of them over 5 days and still saved over 20 bucks compared to the main square prices, anyone else find killer cheap eats by just walking away from the busy streets?

Man that bakery find is the dream right there. Last time I was in a new city, I followed a group of locals down this random alley and ended up at a hole-in-the-wall spot with the best empanadas I've ever had for like 2 bucks each. It's wild how just taking a wrong turn can save you so much cash and give you a way better meal.
