Lost $250 on a cheap Amazon leaf blower that died after 3 uses
Bought a no-name brand for $250 off Amazon thinking I was smart saving money, and it just stopped working on the third lawn, has anyone else had luck with these budget blowers or is it always a gamble?

Bought a no-name brand for $250" - that's your first mistake. These cheap blowers are a straight up gamble. Bought one for $180, died mid leaf pile second time out. Pay more upfront or rent a pro one.

Yeah I used to be the same way, but you're totally right. Learned that lesson the hard way too.

Even the midrange ones can be a total crapshoot... I grabbed a Toro once on sale for like $350 and it crapped out right at the start of fall clean up. The impeller just locked up on me, no warning at all. Spent the whole weekend with a rake and a tarp instead which was miserable. Now I just stick with the big brands even if it hurts the wallet upfront. Lesson learned for sure.

i don't know man, i feel like you just got unlucky. my neighbor has had a toro for like 4 years now and it runs fine every fall. sometimes a bad unit slips through even with the big names. i've seen people with $600 stihls that had fuel issues out of the box. spending more doesnt always mean you're safe, it just means you paid more to find out lol. plus with the cheaper ones you can buy two for the price of one big brand and still come out ahead if the first one breaks after a season or two.
