Warning: spent 3 years laying brick with the wrong side of my trowel facing up

A old timer at the supply yard laughed and pointed it out when he saw me loading up, and now I can't believe nobody ever said anything after 40k bricks.

Wait, isn't that grout float thing actually a common mistake though? My buddy Aaron spent two years installing baseboards with a nail gun set to the wrong depth. Every single board had this weird bulge in the middle where the nail didn't sink in all the way. It wasn't until his dad came to visit and pointed out the gaps that he realized. He had to go back and redo every room in his house. I still give him crap about it whenever we're at Home Depot.
