Pulling over to explore some Incan stonework while traveling for a rally made me rethink interlocking bonds.
The way those stones fit together so tightly without cement is lowkey genius for certain applications.

Calling it 'lowkey genius' is spot on because it highlights how passive stability can outperform active fastening systems. In seismic zones, those interlocking stones dissipate energy through friction, something rigid modern joints often fail to do. We could learn a lot from that ancient flexibility for today's resilient infrastructure!

Rigid joints fail first, always go for the wiggle room.

Keep in mind rigid joints aren't always the enemy. They do fine when nothing's shifting around. You just gotta use the right tool for the situation.
