Knocked over a whole tray of iced coffees at Starbucks yesterday and the barista just laughed

I was at the Starbucks on Grand Ave in Phoenix grabbing my usual cold brew before heading into the office. Had it in my hand, went to grab a napkin, and somehow my elbow just sent the whole thing flying. Coffee and ice cubes everywhere. The barista (this girl named Jess) just looked at it, looked at me, and goes "well that's one way to start a Wednesday." She made me a new one for free too. Has anyone else had a food or drink disaster where the staff was surprisingly chill about it?

And as a bonus you probably gave that barista the best story she'll tell all week, so really you did her a favor. Jess sounds like a pro because she knew getting mad about a wet floor and some wasted dairy isn't worth the energy. Most people who work those jobs have seen way worse than a tipped over drink, like the guy who drops his whole breakfast burrito in the sink. But yeah, I'd bet the chill response depends on how busy they are and whether you looked like you were about to cry about it.

Did you read that study about how most Starbucks workers get paid enough to not care about spills?

Pretty sure that study was from Starbucks corporate themselves, not exactly an unbiased source. Baristas in most cities still deal with rude customers and messy counters for barely above minimum wage.
