Spent $150 on a used power hammer from a Facebook listing and it paid off in 2 weeks

Found a 50lb Little Giant power hammer listed near Des Moines for $150, guy said it hadn't run in years. Took a weekend to clean it up and replace the belts, but now I'm punching out ten fold-welded pieces an hour instead of five. Anyone else find old gear that just needed some elbow grease to work again?

Maybe it's just me but I've had good luck on Facebook marketplace with stuff people gave up on too early. A little time and the right belt can turn junk into a real workhorse. Those old machines just need someone to care enough to clean them up.

Wait, you actually found working parts on Facebook Marketplace?! That's wild to me - every time I browse it's just people selling rusty hedge trimmers for $50 over retail. But I gotta respect the hustle, you're probably sorting through the junk to find the hidden gems while the rest of us are just scrolling past them. I swear half the stuff on there is listed as "antique" when it's just someone's dirty old lawn mower from 2005. Keep doing what you're doing though, someone's gotta save those poor machines from the scrap pile!

Happened to grab an old pressure washer off there last spring that needed a new hose and some carb cleaning, ended up working better than my buddy's brand new one from the big box store. Funny how people will toss something just because they don't wanna look up a YouTube video or two, right? But hey, their loss is our gain when we find those diamonds in the rough lol.
