Just realized my peanut butter and sriracha combo is way worse than peanut butter and gochujang
So I've been messing around with spicy peanut butter sandwiches for like 3 weeks now and I tried two versions. First one was creamy peanut butter with a big squeeze of sriracha, maybe a teaspoon, on plain white bread. Second one was the same peanut butter but with gochujang instead. The sriracha one tasted kinda harsh and vinegar-y, like the heat was fighting the peanut butter instead of blending with it. The gochujang one was sweeter and thicker, and it actually mixed into the peanut butter like a paste instead of just sitting on top. My roommate tried both and said the gochujang one tasted like a real sauce and the sriracha one tasted like I ran out of ideas. Now I'm wondering if I should try chili crisp next or if that's gonna be too oily. Has anyone else swapped hot sauces in a weird combo and had one clearly win?
