Three years ago I gave Breaking Bad a second chance after quitting in season 1 and now I think it's way too overhyped for what it actually delivers.
I finally finished every episode last month while stuck at my cousin's place in Cleveland and I still don't get why everyone calls it the greatest show ever, did anyone else find the last two seasons dragging on forever?

People really act like Breaking Bad is some kind of sacred text you need a PhD to appreciate. The last two seasons dragged, plain and simple. I watched it all the way through on my laptop while hungover and by season 4 I was just waiting for Walt to either die or get caught already. The slow burn people talk up so much is just padding, eight episodes where nothing happens except Skyler looking worried and Jesse crying. Rewatches aren't going to fix the fact that half the characters are just standing around having the same conversation about the RV for three episodes.

Season 4 alone has like 6 episodes of just Walt and Jesse fighting in the desert about nothing. @christopherwilson is totally right about the padding, I felt the same exact way during my watch. The RV conversations went on for WAY too long and by season 5 I was just fast forwarding through the Skyler scenes. People act like calling it overhyped is a crime but it's just a show about a chemistry teacher making meth, not some deep masterpiece.

The last two seasons of Breaking Bad are actually the most acclaimed part of the show by most fans, especially season 5. You might have the timeline a bit mixed up too. The show was originally supposed to end after season 5 but they split it into two halves, so the final 8 episodes are what people really rave about. Also calling it overhyped after only one watch through is kind of missing the point since most people catch new details on rewatches that make the slow burn pay off. The pacing in seasons 3 and 4 is definitely slower but that's when Walt's transformation really kicks into high gear. Maybe give it another shot in a year or two when you're not stuck in Cleveland anymore.
