The way I used to watch 22 episodes a season now feels insane
I remember when a show like Lost dropped a new episode every week for 22 weeks. Now I’m used to 8 episode seasons on streaming that get dropped all at once. Started rewatching The X-Files with my brother last month and we both forgot how long each season actually is. Binge culture definitely changed my attention span, maybe not for the better. Has anyone else tried going back to an old network show and felt the pacing was just way too slow?

Bro 22 episodes a season is WILD to think about now. I started watching Supernatural from the beginning again and every season is like 23 episodes. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the runtime on some of those old seasons. Halfway through season 1 I was already burned out cause I'm so used to 8-10 episode seasons on Netflix. It's crazy how fast our brains got rewired by this streaming era.

Nah the real trip is realizing shows like Law & Order pumped out like 24 episodes a year for 20+ seasons. That's 400+ episodes of the same show. Our attention spans really got cooked.

My buddy @sam_thorth mentioned getting burned out halfway through a season. That's the thing. We used to sit through 23 episodes a year of the same show. Now people can't even finish a YouTube video that's 10 minutes long. I see it at work too. Nobody reads emails past the first line anymore.
