Overheard a dude at the truck stop talking about The Bear

I was grabbing coffee at a Pilot in Ohio and this guy was raving about The Bear on Hulu. He said season 2 episode 7 broke him because it was just one person cooking alone in a kitchen. That got me curious so I watched the whole series in 4 days. The fast talking and yelling reminded me of dispatch on a bad day. Anyone else find a show just from a random comment from a stranger?

Ha, right? Like congrats, you've been promoted to Emotional Support Intern without the pay or the coffee breaks. I swear, some people treat a five minute chat like it's free therapy hour and you're the one who forgot to clock out. My favorite is when they wrap it up with a "thanks for listening" like you had a choice in the matter. Your mileage may vary, but I've started doing that little head tilt and "oof, sounds rough" move while backing away slowly. Works about as well as you'd expect.

Exactly, it's like that unpaid mental overtime nobody asked for. Best trick I learned is to just cut them off fast with a "hope that works out" and change the subject before they can dump more on you.
