Guy at the bus stop convinced me to watch Dark and I'm still recovering
Was waiting for the 42 bus downtown last Wednesday and this random dude noticed I was scrolling Netflix. He just leaned over and said 'stop whatever you're doing and watch Dark, but pay attention or you'll be lost.' I thought he was being dramatic so I put it on later that night. 3 days and 26 episodes later I finally finished it and my brain still hurts from all the timeline stuff. The way they tie every character together across decades is insane. Has anyone else had a stranger just nail their recommendation like that?

Right? That show messes with your head but in the best way. Practical tip though, keep a little notebook or notes app open when you watch, jot down names and dates. Once you hit that big reveal around episode 7 or 8, flip back through your notes, it makes the tangled timeline way easier to follow. Saved me from having to rewind every five minutes.

Jotting things down is great until you lose the notebook like I ALWAYS do. Last week I found a scrap of paper in my truck with "red door, tuesday?" scribbled on it and I still have NO idea what that means. Might have been a show note, might have been a reminder to pick up more red paint for a job, basically a total mystery to myself.

Does this mean the show is basically a Rorschach test for your memory skills too? I’ve noticed the same thing happens in real life when I try to piece together why I walked into a room. It’s like my brain treats those random thoughts as puzzle pieces, and the only way I can make sense of them is if I write things down immediately. @viola_ward your notebook idea is solid, I swear half the time I’m just retracing my steps because I didn’t take two seconds to jot down a reminder before I forgot it.
