Debate: Was 'Succession' actually boring or a masterpiece? I've been going back and forth.

I really did NOT get the hype for Succession after the first 3 episodes. I thought it was just rich people yelling at each other with ZERO plot. My buddy kept saying wait for season 2, so I powered through. By episode 5 of season 1, I got hooked on the power plays and the dialogue. Is it legit genius or did I just get Stockholm syndrome from binging? What show flipped you from skeptic to fan or the other way around?

Wait, you have a buddy who actually kept pushing you through 3 episodes of pure yelling? That's some serious friendship right there. Stockholm syndrome sounds about right when you're forced to sit through Logan's screaming matches with no payoff for hours. What show made you feel like you were in an abusive relationship with a series?

Three episodes of straight yelling with zero payoff? I can't even handle one scene like that without muting it or fast forwarding. Your buddy must have the patience of a saint or some serious guilt tripping skills to keep you there. Honestly, that sounds like torture, not entertainment. I would have tapped out after the first scream fest and never looked back. Some shows really do make you feel like you're stuck in a bad relationship where you keep hoping it'll get better and it just never does.

Wait, didn't you say in your earlier post that it was more like constant arguing back and forth, not just Logan screaming? I mean, I agree the yelling got old fast, but it wasn't exactly one-sided. His sister was giving it right back to him for the first two episodes. But yeah, your point about it feeling like a bad relationship really hit home for me. I kept waiting for that one scene where someone finally says something real, and it just never came. Sometimes I wonder if shows like that are trying to be deep by being loud, and it just falls flat.
