Was dead set against tubeless tires until last month...

I swore by tubes for like 8 years, thought tubeless was just hype. Then I got three flats in one week on a gravel ride near Asheville, finally caved and set up my wheels with some Stan's sealant. Has anyone else had a total 180 on a setup they thought was snake oil?

Rileyb61's buddy walked out carrying his bike? I once snapped a chain halfway up a climb and just sat there eating a granola bar until a stranger with a chain tool rolled by, felt like I was being rescued by a bike angel.

Man, I was the exact same way for years. I ran tubes in everything from my cross bike to my mountain hardtail and told anyone who would listen that tubeless was just a way to sell more expensive tires and sealant. It took a string of pinch flats on a rocky descent to finally make me try it. Now I won't go back. The ride quality alone is worth the hassle, and I have not had a single flat since making the switch last spring. It feels like a totally different bike now, especially on the rough stuff. You made the right call.

Funny enough, I had a buddy who swore by tubes until he got a thorn in his tire three miles from the truck on a solo ride. He walked out carrying his bike and ordered a tubeless kit that night.
