Finally picked carbide cutters over diamond for a tough wheel build

I had been debating for weeks whether to spring for carbide or diamond cutters for facing my headtubes and chasing bottom brackets. Carbide was about $60 more but I kept reading it lasts way longer on aluminum frames. Took the plunge yesterday and after prepping 4 frames back to back, they're still cutting like butter. Anyone else gone back and forth on facing tools and regretted one over the other?

Always wondered if the longer life of carbide is actually worth it if you're only doing a few frames a year and the diamond ones would basically last forever at that pace.

Have you tried diamond despite the low volume, or stuck with carbide? I only do a few frames a year and a cheap diamond wheel still looks new after three years.

Read an old Park Tool white paper that basically agreed with @emmawood on that one.
