I finally learned the hard way about buying cheap work boots online

Spent $60 on a pair from some website last January and the sole started peeling after six weeks. By March I was taping them together on a roof job in Phoenix and ended up dropping $180 on a real pair that's still going strong. Anyone else fall for those discount boot ads and regret it?

Oh man, you're speaking my language. Bought a $50 pair off some flash ad last fall for light work around the house and they started splitting right at the toe seam within a month. Ended up supergluing them back together twice before I gave up and went to a real boot store. The difference was night and day in the fit and the leather quality. Those cheap ones felt like cardboard on my feet after a few hours. Funny how spending a little more upfront saves so much headache and money in the long run.

Did you try to return them at all? I got a pair from one of those ads and the company ghosted me when I emailed about the sole separating after two weeks. Called my bank and they wouldn't even do a chargeback because it was some drop shipper based overseas.

Bought a pair that fell apart faster than my New Year's resolutions.
