Dropped $180 on a competition meat injector that sits in my garage now
Bought a fancy stainless injector at a contest in Memphis two seasons back, $180 plus tax, thinking it would fix my brisket flat. Turns out my flat was dry from cooking too hot and pulling too early, not from bad injection. Used it twice, then went back to a $12 plastic syringe from the pharmacy and my scores went up. The guy next to me in the pit that weekend told me he had quit injecting altogether and just ran a cleaner fire, and he took 3rd in brisket. Anyone else bought gear hoping it would cover up a pit habit they hadn't fixed yet?
