I finally found a working KitchenAid mixer at a garage sale for $20

Picked it up from an old lady in Portland last Saturday, and after a quick grease swap it runs like new. Anyone else scored a high-end appliance for pocket change and fixed it up yourself?

Dude same, I got one for my birthday like five years ago thinking I'd make fresh bread every weekend. Used it exactly once, the loaf came out like a dense brick, and now it's basically a shelf for old mail and dust in my laundry room. Total waste of counter space, I don't get why people hype them up.

Ha, nice find! I once bought a bread machine for $5 at a garage sale thinking I'd be some kind of artisan baker. It sat in my garage for two years before I finally donated it.
