Store-bought crust was the star of my potluck pie

Many home bakers insist that pie crust has to be handmade to taste good. I was short on time and grabbed a ready-to-use one from the store. At the potluck, my peach pie got more compliments than the fancy homemade versions. I believe good results matter more than how you get there. It was pretty funny watching people rave about my 'effortless' baking skill.

Used to think store crusts were a total cheat. Your story makes me want to try one now. Guess the final product really is what counts.

Seriously, why is this such a big deal? @barnes.skyler has a point about the final product being what counts. I've had homemade crusts that were tough and store ones that were perfect. It's not cheating if the pie tastes great and everyone is happy. Sometimes we get so caught up in doing things the hard way that we forget why we started. Just make good food, you know?

Honestly the pie crust police need to chill (no pun intended). Barnes.Skyler has a point that the end result is what people eat, not the story behind it. If a store crust lets you focus on a killer peach filling that everyone loves, that's a win. Seems like some bakers just enjoy making things harder than they need to be.
