Walked away from my mixer for 2 minutes and came back to a butter mess.

I was creaming butter and sugar for a batch of cookies in my kitchen here in Denver when I stepped out to grab coffee. Came back to a soft butter volcano all over the counter because I left the speed too high. Has anyone else had a quick distraction wreck a whole batch like that?

Oh man, I feel this in my bones. I once left my stand mixer on high while I ran to answer the door for a package. Came back to butter confetti on every surface of my tiny kitchen, including the ceiling. Took me a full afternoon to scrub the splatters off the cabinets and the dog was licking the floor for hours. Now I have a strict rule that the mixer gets turned off and the bowl gets covered if I'm stepping away for even a second. Your cookies might be a lost cause but at least the counter smells like dessert.

butter confetti" is the best description of that mess lol. It's funny how the smallest distraction can turn a simple thing into a full disaster. You answered the door for a package and got a kitchen remodel out of it. I swear life has this rule where if you don't fully commit to what you're doing for five straight minutes, the universe punishes you. Like when I try to fold laundry while watching a show and end up with a wrinkled shirt and no idea what happened in the plot. Or when I'm grilling burgers and walk inside to grab the buns and come back to hockey pucks on the grill. The whole "just one quick thing" trap gets us every time.
