My roommate's 2 AM smoothie habit finally got weird enough to confront

I moved in with this guy Jake back in September, and every single night around 2 AM he blends kale, frozen berries, and protein powder. I thought it was just a health kick, but last Tuesday I found his blender in the dishwasher still caked with last week's smoothie residue. He never washes it, just runs it with soap and water, which apparently doesn't cut it. I called him out and he said 'it's fine, the blades clean themselves,' which is just factually not true. Has anyone else dealt with a roommate who thinks appliances have self-cleaning powers, or am I the only one?
