I finally bought the $8 rain poncho at the Grand Canyon and it outlasted my $70 jacket
Went to the Grand Canyon last spring and the sky opened up about 20 minutes into the South Kaibab trail. My fancy rain jacket gave out and soaked through in like 10 minutes, but the cheap $8 poncho from the gift shop stayed dry the whole way down and back. My buddy still brings it up every time we hike, says it's the best money I ever spent. Anyone else got a cheap thing that totally showed up a pricey one?

Wait, your $70 jacket tapped out in 10 minutes?? That's wild. I'd be so mad knowing an 8 dollar piece of plastic beat it down the whole trail.
