Paid $40 for gopher spike things, worthless

Bought those ultrasonic gopher spikes at the hardware store in Modesto. Three weeks in, my zucchini patch looks like a minefield and the gophers laughed at it. Anyone found something that actually works or should I just get a trap?

Honestly those spikes only made my mole situation worse, ended up naming the biggest one Carl and we just share the yard now.
