My tomatoes were yellow for 3 summers until a neighbor in Boise pointed at my watering can

I was dumping water on the leaves every evening because I thought it looked thirsty, and now after seeing her drip line setup I'm wondering how many other basic habits I've got totally backwards, anyone else catch themselves doing something this dumb for years?
