My $35 soil test kit was the best money I spent this spring

I was guessing on fertilizer for my raised beds and things were just okay, but after using the kit I found out my soil was way too acidic for tomatoes. I added the exact amount of lime it said to, and now the plants are setting fruit like crazy (which is a huge relief). Has anyone else had a surprise like that from testing their dirt?

My buddy was convinced he had a black thumb with peppers. The test showed his soil had basically no potassium at all, which explains why the plants just gave up. He fixed it and sent me a picture of his first decent harvest last week, lol.

Oh man, that's hilarious... I spent all last summer yelling at my sad tomato plants like it was their fault. Turns out I was just slowly poisoning them with my own dirt.

Blame the plants anyway, @king.aaron, they should have fought back.
