Solar string lights looked cheap to me until a neighbor showed me hers

She had the same $25 set from Amazon for 3 years through Georgia storms. Sun still charges them by 7pm and they make her whole patio feel like a restaurant. Anybody found a brand that holds up longer than that?

And like @felix_williams71 said, that's pretty solid if they made it through Georgia storms. I'd look for ones with replaceable batteries, that's usually what gives out first in my experience.

Replaceable batteries are overrated. Most people never change them out anyway. They just toss the whole thing when it dies. The sealed ones are usually better weatherproofed too. Less points for water to get in. Georgia storms are brutal on electronics, so that seal matters more than swapping a battery. She got lucky with those cheap lights lasting, not because of the battery feature.

Well isn't that something, good for her sticking with those lights through all that weather.
