Spent 6 hours chasing a squawk that turned out to be one loose cannon plug pin in Boise
Two weeks ago I got a write up for a left ADC disagree light that only popped up above 15,000 feet. I swapped the air data computer first, then the pitot static lines, then spent an hour in the hell hole under the floor checking tray routing. Nothing. Turned out pin 14 in the cannon plug behind the FO's side panel was backing out just enough to lose contact when the cabin flexed at altitude. Six hours of my life for a pin that I fixed with a $12 insertion tool and about 30 seconds of actual work. The worst part is the plane sat overnight and the squawk would not repeat on the ground, so I was basically guessing at 40 degrees in a hangar. Anybody got a better trick for catching intermittent pins besides wiggling every wire in sight?
