The "it ran when it came in" line from customers who drove it here
Had a guy last Tuesday swear his truck only needed a brake job, but the transmission was slipping so bad it almost rolled into my bay door. He stood there with his coffee and told me it drove fine from Bakersfield. I checked the fluid, it was burnt to a crisp. How do I politely tell customers their 90 mile drive to my shop is the road test, not the diagnostic?
