Wet sanding with a drop of dish soap finally killed my 1200 grit scratches

Kept getting hazy swirls on a black bumper respray until an old painter at the shop down the street told me to add a single drop of Dawn to the water bucket. Did a test panel with and without it and the soap side wiped clean with no haze. Has anyone found a soap ratio that works better for 800 grit or is one drop just the move all the way through?
