The week two fender jobs taught me to check the price before I quote
Last month I had back to back jobs on similar older trucks, a F-150 and a Silverado, both needing rear quarter patches. I quoted the first one based on my usual parts cost, then found out the rust had eaten more of the inner structure than I guessed. The second truck I walked the whole thing twice, looked up every clip and bracket price online first, and my number was still shy by about $180. Do you guys build in a buffer for hidden rust on these older trucks, or am I just being too optimistic?
