Warning: do not take the back way to the airport during afternoon rush
My coworker Marcus kept telling me to skip 285 and cut through Camp Creek to get to Hartsfield. I tried it last Thursday around 4:30 and sat at a light near Old National for 25 minutes while planes flew overhead. The highway would have been slow but at least it was moving. Has anyone found a side route that really works for a 5pm flight out of ATL, or should I just leave my house at 2 and eat a sad sandwich at the gate?
