TIL about free museum days after paying full price for months

I've been visiting the art museum in Portland every other Saturday for like 6 months, dropping $18 each time. Last weekend a stranger at the ticket counter told me they have free admission every first Thursday of the month. I felt kind of dumb but also grateful. Has anyone else discovered a hidden freebie at a local spot way later than they should have?

Not me paying $12 to tour a historic house for a year before finding out they have "pay what you can" Tuesdays. My wallet is still crying about it.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I paid full price at a zoo for like three years before I found out they had half-price Thursdays. Felt like such a dummy.
