PSA: I froze my jeans to 'kill the smell' and now they smell like frozen peas
I read on some forum that sticking jeans in the freezer for 48 hours kills bacteria, so I tried it with my favorite pair last month. They came out stiff as cardboard and smelling weirdly like frozen vegetables from my freezer in Bakersfield. What I actually learned is that cold doesn't kill the smell, it just pauses it, because by day two of wearing them again the funk was back worse. Has anyone found a real fix for jeans between washes, or am I stuck doing the spot clean thing forever?
My buddy did the freezer trick too and his jeans ended up smelling like a weird mix of ice and old socks... he switched to hanging them outside overnight and spraying the inside with cheap vodka, which actually worked.
