Just crunched the numbers on my last 6 months of Amazon returns
I was going through my order history last night and found out I returned 14 items out of 32 total purchases since June. That's almost 44% return rate which seems insane to me. Has anyone else tracked their return rate and found a similar pattern?

Wait, you actually kept track of that? I used to be the guy who'd just throw stuff in the cart and never look back, but you might've just convinced me I should start paying attention. I had a similar shock when I realized I'd sent back like 5 pairs of shoes in a row last year because I kept guessing wrong on the fit. It's wild how easy it is to just click return and not think about the bigger picture until you see the number staring back at you like that. I always thought I was a careful buyer, but that 44% would definitely make me reconsider how much browsing I'm actually doing versus impulse clicking.

Right, because nothing says "careful shopper" like accidentally building a shoe graveyard in your closet... That's the thing, once you actually add up the numbers it hits different, makes you realize you've been playing a really expensive game of dress-up. Maybe we should start a support group for reformed impulse clickers.

But here's what I keep wondering though - how much of that return rate is actually stuff you bought knowing there was a pretty good chance you'd send it back? Like those clothes you order in two sizes just to try on at home?
