Had to pick between getting a new phone or fixing my old one last month
I went with a new battery for my iPhone 11 at a shop in Portland for $50 instead of dropping $800 on a new phone. It's been 6 weeks and honestly it works just as good as day one, anyone else try the repair route?

That Pixel 4 thing about vibrating near microwaves is wild. I actually looked into this a while back because my old phone did something similar. It's probably not the phone plotting against you - it's more likely that extra screw you found is grounding something it shouldn't. Microwaves leak a tiny bit of RF energy, and if a loose screw is making contact with the phone's antenna or frame in a weird way, it can act like a makeshift receiver. I'd honestly just open it back up and try to find where that screw goes, or at least tape it down somewhere neutral. Leaving it loose inside is asking for a short circuit down the line. Your mileage may vary, but I've seen phones catch fire from less.

Why does my junk drawer always look like a bomb went off in a phone repair shop? I tried fixing my old Samsung S9 last year. The screen replacement was $120. Lasted maybe two months before it cracked again when I dropped it grabbing a bag of chips. Battery life? Still terrible. Honestly, phones hold a grudge against me.

Dude, I feel this on a spiritual level lmao. My junk drawer is basically a graveyard for half-eaten phone screens and random resistors I can't identify. I replaced the battery on my old Pixel 4 once and somehow ended up with an extra screw that didn't fit anywhere, so I just shoved it back together and hoped for the best. It's still working, but now it vibrates every time I walk past a microwave. Pretty sure my phone is plotting against me too lol.
