Watched a guy drop a 40 foot pine on his own truck in Bend, now I triple check my hinge
I was doing a removal off Century Drive in Bend last Tuesday and the guy working the next lot over had his hinge cut way too thin. His pine went sideways, crushed the bed of his own truck, and he just stood there holding the saw. I've been cutting my hinges a hair thicker and checking my escape path twice since then. Anybody got a rule of thumb for hinge thickness on leaning pines, or do you just eyeball it?
