Shoutout to the guy who showed me the baking soda trick for dishwasher smells
I had this dishwasher at a client's house last Tuesday in Phoenix that smelled so bad I thought there was something dead in there. Took me like 20 minutes to pull it out and check the drain pump and everything looked clean. Then this old timer repair guy I ran into at the parts store told me to just dump a cup of baking soda and run a hot cycle before I go pulling things apart. Honestly felt dumb but I tried it on my own machine first and it worked like a charm. Now I do that as a first step on any smelly dishwasher call before I even start pulling tools out. Has anyone else found a cheap fix like that that saves you time on service calls?

That baking soda trick reminds me how most problems have a dead simple fix we overlook because we're trained to expect a complicated answer. Its like how my grandma used to fix a sticky lock with a pencil rubbing instead of WD-40 just a tiny nudge in the right direction instead of tearing the whole thing apart.

Used to think baking soda was just for cookies and science projects but this is a game changer honestly.
