Why does nobody talk about the voice actor swap in the English dub of Precure?
I was rewatching Futari wa Precure the other week and noticed something wild. The English dub from back in the early 2000s had a completely different voice cast than the uncut version that came out later on DVD. Like, Nagisa went from sounding like a grown woman to a kid actress in the span of like 2 years between releases. I looked it up and apparently they recast everyone for the uncut dub because the original was done by a small studio in Texas that lost the rights. The difference is jarring because I grew up with the old voices and now I can barely find clips of them anywhere. Has anyone else noticed how hard it is to track down those original English dubs for the older magical girl shows?

Miss those old Ocean dubs too. Wish they were easier to find online.

Ocean's dub of DBZ had that weird crackling audio on the VHS releases. Always thought it was my player but turns out it was just how they mastered it.

Actually the original English dub wasn’t Texas. It was done by an outfit in Vancouver, Canada. Ocean Productions did it I think? They were the same ones who did the old Inuyasha dubs. I remember hunting down those old VHS tapes at Blockbuster back in the day.
