I chose the sub over the dub for 'Attack on Titan' and I don't regret it
Everyone kept telling me the English dub was the way to go because it made the action scenes easier to follow. But I stuck with the Japanese audio with subtitles for all 87 episodes. Hearing Eren's original voice actor scream his lungs out felt way more real to me. The emotional weight in season 3 part 2 would have been lost if I switched. Has anyone else found that the original language brings more depth to a show, even if you miss a few lines?

hearing Eren's original voice actor scream his lungs out" - you hit it right there. Did you find the sub made the quieter character moments hit harder too, or was it just the big emotional outbursts?

Man, watching with subs totally changed how Mikasa's quiet scenes felt for me. It's like you catch more of the raw emotion in the voice even when they're not shouting.

Doesn't it make you wonder how much we miss relying on the dub sometimes? I remember rewatching the scene where she asks Eren to come home, and the sub version had this tiny catch in her voice that just wrecked me.
