Bought a $60 borescope off the tool truck and it paid for itself on the first inspection
I picked up one of those cheap USB borescopes from the tool truck back in March, mostly as a toy if I'm being honest. Last Thursday I was doing a routine inspection on a customer's Piper and could not get a good look down past the baffles on the number two cylinder. I fished that camera down in there and spotted a small crack in the exhaust riser that I would have missed with my mirror and flashlight. Customer was glad to catch it on the ground instead of in the air, and the job paid way more than the scope cost me. The picture quality is not great and the cable is stiff as a board, but for 60 bucks I will take it. Curious if anyone here has tried a better one in the 150 to 200 dollar range, because I think I am ready to upgrade.
