Tried dehydrating chicken in my air fryer after 3 years of only using it for frozen fries

I saw a guy on YouTube do a side by side with his oven and the air fryer jerky came out way less chewy in half the time. Has anyone else switched from oven to air fryer for making jerky batches?

Felt that pain, honestly. I tried making jerky in my regular oven once and it took like 8 hours and came out tasting like shoe leather. The air fryer is a game changer for this, I've been using mine for everything lately. I mean, I still mess it up sometimes if I cut the pieces too thick, but the time savings is huge. You gotta keep an eye on it though, it can go from perfect to burnt pretty quick.

Why not just use a dehydrator instead of ruining good meat in an air fryer?
