My barber's AI comment made me rethink how I use ChatGPT at work

Was getting a fade last Tuesday and my barber, this older guy named Ray, said he uses AI to write all his text replies to clients. Said he types one sentence and the AI makes it sound professional. I laughed because I deliver mail all day and I've been using ChatGPT for route notes and weather updates. But hearing him say it so casual made me realize I don't need to build some whole system for AI, I just need to use it for tiny stuff. How are you all actually using AI in your day to day jobs, not the fancy stuff, just the boring practical stuff?

Ray's approach is basically what I landed on too, but here's my question for you. When you use it for those tiny boring tasks, do you ever end up spending more time fixing what it writes than if you just typed it yourself? I've noticed that with my route notes, the AI sometimes adds these weird formal phrases that make no sense for a mail carrier, and I gotta rewrite the whole thing anyway. Is Ray just lucky that his clients don't care about the tone, or did he find some way to get AI to sound like him and not like a robot? Because that's the part I still can't crack.
