I let GPT summarize my 2 hour meeting and it changed how I work
I'm in product management and sit through 4-5 status meetings a week. Last month I started feeding the raw transcript from Otter.ai into GPT and asking for a 100 word summary with action items. The time savings was around 45 minutes per meeting because I stopped rewatching recordings and rereading long notes. Has anyone tried the new custom GPTs for this kind of recurring task?

Wait... you were rewatching 2 hour recordings of meetings? That's rough buddy. I think I'd rather sit through the meeting again than do that. But yeah feeding transcripts into AI for summaries is pretty much the only reason I haven't lost my mind yet. Custom GPTs are good for this stuff if you get the prompt right, otherwise it just gives you the same boilerplate nonsense. Just make sure it doesn't start summarizing your coffee breaks as action items, mine tried to make "refill mug" into a priority task once.

I used to think AI summaries were just a lazy shortcut, but after sitting through a few of those 2 hour recordings I totally get it now. Your "refill mug" story cracked me up though, at least it's honest about where the time went.
