That time our agency in Austin won a pitch by ignoring the 'data first' rule
Everyone on the team was pushing to lead with analytics from a $50k research study, but I argued we should lead with the simple, emotional idea first. We presented the 'feel' of the brand story before a single chart, and the client bought it on the spot. Has anyone else had a win by going against the usual process like that?

Honestly, that just sounds like good pitching, not some huge rebellion.

What gets me, @susanm56, is the timing. Calling that pitch in a 3-0 count isn't just good, it's a huge gamble that changes how the whole lineup gets pitched to next inning. That's the real rebellion, making the other team doubt their whole plan.

Read a breakdown yesterday, this kind of call messes with the scouting report big time.
