Shoutout to the forest ranger at Moab who helped me out of a jam

I got my Jeep stuck in sand near Poison Spider Mesa last Saturday and thought I was gonna be there overnight. A ranger rolled up in his stock F-150 and pulled me out like it was nothing, no winch needed. Made me realize I rely way too much on my 4x4 gear and not enough on basic recovery skills. Has anyone else gotten rescued by someone in a lesser vehicle and felt humbled?

yeah exactly, "lesser" is such a loaded word in that translation, it makes it sound like Theravada is some kind of lesser path when really it's just a different approach with a different emphasis. most people don't realize that the term hinayana was originally used by Mahayana schools to describe a different set of priorities, not a value judgment on the entire tradition. the Theravada monks I've talked to don't even recognize the term, they just call it the "way of the elders" which feels way more accurate to what they're actually practicing. the whole "lesser vehicle" thing just creates this unnecessary hierarchy that doesn't reflect how any modern Buddhists actually live their practice.
