Corsica, a popular holiday destination offers several airports including Bastia, Calvi, Figari and Ajaccio. Calvi-Ste Catherine Airport is situated on the north west side of the island and is found just over six kilometres from the centre of Calvi (famed for its jazz festivals). A bus service operates between the towns and the airport as does the Corsican Railway. Taxi fares stand at 14 euros for a journey into the centre of Calvi from the airport. An alternative is to rent a car at the airport and enjoy all the island has to offer. Ajaccio Airport, situated on the island’s west coast is about 5 kilometres from the city centre. A shuttle bus runs regularly and takes about twenty minutes while there are also taxi and rail services. Bastia-Poretta Airport is 17 kilometres from the centre of Bastia with a shuttle service to the centre and to the railway station. A taxi ride will set you back about 40 euros. Figari Airport on Corsica’s south coast is situated in the village but shuttles operate to and from the resorts of Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio. A taxi out to Bonifacio will set you back about 27 euros. For the journey, allow an hour and a half.
