Gatorade and Air Jordans were marketing gold
Gatorade has been a popular sports drink for quite some time as was Nike’s marketing campaign to sell authentic Jordans. Their marketing skills have certainly played a part in their popularity, with their television commercials being the biggest componenet of their advertising techniques, teaching kids that they can jump as high as Mike with a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. Gatorade’s motto “If I could be like Mike” is an effective marketing tool because many people consider Michael Jordan to be inspirational to them. With that said, if people see Michael Jordan drinking a nice cold Gatorade on television, they will be more likely to want to drink it themselves, especially those in the younger generations and those who actively play in the sports community themselves.
